In 1912 Regoyos settled for the winter with his family in Barcelona. Although seriously ill with cancer, he held two major exhibitions of his work there and even worked outdoors, adding the landscapes of several regions of Catalonia to his oeuvre. He also produced a number of urban views of the city where he died, prematurely, a year later.
