Museo Carmen Thyssen

The Museum’s Permanent Collection includes a section devoted to the “Old Masters”, featuring a carefully selected group of the finest works from the Carmen Thyssen Collection displayed chronologically from the 13th to the 17th centuries. Depicting religious subjects, these paintings and sculptures reveal the relationship between art and devotion and include outstanding examples such as The Dead Christ and Christ the Nazarene, which relate to the days prior to Holy Week and thus to the Christian commemoration of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.

For 5 days, the Museum’s Artistic Director, Lourdes Moreno (@lourdesmoreno_m), will be introducing a series of key works from the Carmen Thyssen Collection in the form of a dialogue in which users of Twitter can participate.
