Loans and movements

External loans

The Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga temporarily loans works from its Permanent Collection to other Museums and cultural institutions. The objective of these loans is to diversify the audience for the Collection by means of participating in exhibitions organised outside the Museum or by temporary exhibit within these institutions.

The loan of work contributes to building collaborative relationships between institutions, as well as the dissemination beyond the walls of the Museum of the works that comprise the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection exhibited in the Museum.

Movements of the Collection

On occasion the works that make up the Permanent Collection are included in temporary exhibitions that are organized within the Museum itself. This entails not only a change in the location of the work within the exhibition space, but also a new occasion for the visitor to make a renewed reading of the work thanks to its new context.

On other occasions the works are temporarily withdrawn from their usual location for conservation.
