Summer course The Impressionist Adventure
Del 09 al 11 de julio de 2014-
Price:
58 Euros
Darío de Regoyos was one of the most unique Spanish painters of his day. Intellectually restless and a tireless traveller, he became acquainted with the new art movements in Belgium and France and made friends with artists such as James Ensor, Paul Signac, Georges Seurat, Camille Pissarro and Théo van Rysselberghe. Regoyos’s innovative vision introduced some of the new trends such as Pointillism and Impressionism into Spain.
This course takes Regoyos’s life and work as its starting point in order to allow for a vision of the extensive cultural context in which the artist consciously moved: from the Generation of ’98, which influenced the darker side of his work, to the circle around L’Essor and the prestigious Belgian group Les XX, of which he was a member. In addition, the innovative and luminous presence of Impressionism in Regoyos’s painting will allow for the art scene in Spain to be analysed and contrasted with the international context in which important aesthetic changes had already come about.
