The Museum is organising three interactive tours, each with a specific approach, in connection with the temporary exhibition Artists’ Posters. From Toulouse-Lautrec to Jeff Koons. Based on selected works and/or themes, the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga’s team of curators offer visitors the chance to engage in a nomadic dialogue with this exhibition – a conversation that will develop as they move around the exhibition space, giving rise to cross-cutting stories and alternative discourses.

The show is everywhere
At the end of the 19th century, the walls of Paris became covered in posters that advertised countless cabaret, circus, musical or theatre shows, inviting citizens to enjoy the vibrant bohemian atmosphere of the early days of the Belle Époque. Montmartre, so artists claimed, was the centre of the universe: young creators arrived there from all over Europe, in search of cutting-edge modernity and from there gave rise to novelties that would change contemporary European art. Taking as a basis the pioneers of poster design represented in the exhibition, we propose a tour of this fascinating cultural context in which art merged with the show business, from Paris to Barcelona and from Toulouse-Lautrec to Ramon Casas, including a few 20th-century offshoots.

Place:
Temporary exhibition room (3rd floor) and Sala Noble (1st floor) Meeting point in the column courtyard.

Admission:
Maximum 20 people
