After a trip we inevitably find ourselves with a wealth of documentation, memories and experiences that we preserve in writing or in our memories. These memories are stored within us in an idealised form.
But what was the situation more than a hundred years ago? What inspired people to travel?
In the mid-19th century and as a result of new forms of transport such as the railway and the earliest cruise ships, travel underwent a profound transformation.
This summer’s activity will encourage participants to get to know one of those new travellers, Darío de Regoyos, whose travels of this kind allowed him to discover the new artistic trends emerging in other countries and introduce them into Spain.
